Wine Evening is a wine tasting adventure to the vineyard near Prague. Vineyard is located in Litomerice area in northwest from Prague. The trip is by minivan and it is only for 6 or more people.
Litomerice area is one of important wine areas in Bohemia. The sunny flat landscape with average annual temperature 8.7 °C (47.66 ℉) and average annual rainfall 547 mm (21.54 inches) gives good conditions for winegrowing. Basement of vineyards is basalt and limestone.
History of wine in Litomerice area started about 1057. It is associated with the period of the spread of Christianity. First wine was produced in monasteries. The varieties mostly grown in this area are Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muller Thurgau, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent and Zweigelt.
You will visit vineyards and see the whole wine production process, starting with receiving the grapes up to bottling the wine. Everything will take place in a state of the art winery using the latest modern technologies (reconstructed after 2004) in combination with careful work with the hands and a love for winemaking itself.
The trip will culminate at the end, when you will taste several wine varieties served with cheese and other products from local farmers. You can stay there for the dinner in the winery restaurant with magnificent cuisine or buy some bottles of wine.
